After Effects presentation video
Description
Using Adobe After Effects digital motion graphics software, the goal of this project was to create a quick, simple and concise presentation that sampled some of the work in my personal portfolio, primarily using animation of shape layers and graphics.
This project was completed in partial fulfillment of the BCIT Adobe After Effects course requirements.
Timeline
One week (October 2007)
Challenge
I had to create a visually dynamic and compelling presentation using limited knowledge of the software and limited video or graphics resources, on a tight timeline.
Execution
Using simple graphics already created in Illustrator, I imported the multicoloured dots and shapes into After Effects. I used screenshots of various pieces of work. I used a free font, Anivers, for the presentation text. Once one animation sequence was created, I duplicated and modified each subsequent graphic to model the same path. Subsequently, I have learned how to duplicate animation sequences using expressions.
Results
The client was pleased with the final report and recommendations. Several recommendations have been integrated into the site’s product database; other design recommendations are being integrated in a future site redesign.
